De Balie is a cultural center for debates and lectures, an arthouse cinema and café in the middle of Amsterdam. Every month they invite a different artist to create something for the space under their big double staircase. This can be a smal expo or installation, but I decided to paint a mural. The mural is called 'reading is dreaming with your eyes open'and it is an ode to books. In my opinion, reading keeps your imagination alive and reading a good book can make you travel to places unseen without even leaving the house.
